We landed up staying for a few days at Gastehaus Berge in Aschau im Chiemgau by accident. Too many hours spent on Air BnB searching for somewhere to stay in the area with just a little bit of style (I wasn’t asking for too much was I?) and I gave up leaving my husband to take over. So it was with a little surprise (apparently I should have had more faith in his research capabilities) we passed a few happy days in the paired back style of Guesthouse Berge. Each apartment is simply furnished and with a beautifully balanced design although it took mere minutes for my children and a bag of lego to unbalance this same space. I do not normally gravitate towards monochromatic decor but its hard not to fall for the attention to detail, or the clever pieces of furniture scaled to fit the character of the room. With the furniture available for sale, you can also take a little bit of the magic home with you by visiting the Moormann showroom down the road…
